My triumphant return.

Well, really, I've just been busy beyond belief, what with art school, gigging, puppies and the like. You know how it goes... you get back to college, and all of a sudden you have NO time at all.

I've managed to find a bit of time for gigs, though, thank god. Unfortunately, lack of funds means I will be missing out on two of the big international acts coming later this year. More on that below.

I'd like to welcome a new friend, ZOMBIES-and-MADNESS, who I hadn't even talked to when I wrote up my last journal. Hi, Bekk! Bekk has helped to rekindle my Trivium obsession, so you can all go blame her for that now.

What else. Printmaking is more fun than I thought it would be, Photography is considerably less, Concepts is a mindfuck and sculpture is just exhausting. I've had little to no time to work on my own art and poetry, but I will try, for all of you. You know I appreciate your support; there's a nice surprise for you below.

I've been to three gigs in the last month, and have another one coming up next weekend. My my my, I do get around, don't I? ^^'

First up was local event L!ve Hard 'N Heavy II, which I attended with VaginalJesus, my mate Luke, my wacky step-second-cousin Callum, and a random stranger, Jacob, who was chatting to Luke by the time I got to the doors. It was a damn good night - six local bands, another from interstate, well-priced merchandise, and the Universum T-shirt I bought was signed by all six members of the band due to me and Jacob deciding to track them down, one at a time. Two weeks later, I was off to see my idol, none other than Alice Cooper himself, in what was quite simply the best night of my life. He played all his best songs, I was two feet from him and leaning on the stage, I caught a balloon, some of the paper money, and Kerri Kelli's pick, got some KICKASS photos, and made eye contact with Alice himself. Nothing will ever beat that expreience.

The week after that, I was off to a local gig with new friend Jacob, to see All Hallow's Eve, A Lapse in Reality, Deafening Silence, Satoria and Skintilla, the latter two of which I'd been a fan of since LHNH. The entry price wass good, drinks were cheap (and by that, I mean it was only two bucks for a bottle of water), I got a Skintilla CD and the merch guy threw in a shirt for another five bucks (how can you argue with that?), and Jacob bought me the Deafening Silence album. Which is awesome, by the way. Any of you fuckers live in Adelaide, South Australia, you gotta start checking out these bands. Right. Fucking. NOW.

Next stop, Against the Grain 5, next saturday - 22 metal bands from around the country, twelve hours of pure Aussie metal, including Octanic, Double Dragon, and Truth Corroded. Hell-fucking-YES! I'll be there with Luke, Jacob and of course, ZOMBIES-and-MADNESS, so it's gonna be an epic day, I'm sure.

After that, I'll be off to Slayer/Megadeth, because the best father in the world bought me tickets for my birthday! And THAT will be a tough gig to beat. Sadly, I'll be missing out on Arch Enemy in November, as well as Lamb of God in December. Ah, well... can't win 'em all. I'm so fuckin' stoked about Slayer, though. Seriously. That will be amazing.

I have an epic list of shit that needs drawing.

I should update it. Or at least get around to working through it. >.<

Haven't had much time to do anything for myself, but I akm working on a few things. So, you'll see something eventually.
